Your Claim Search section provides quick access to your patient's claims information. To search your patient's claims information, complete all of the fields. The fields with a red asterisk are required. Next, select to search by a claim date range. You can use the claims information to:
determine the status of a claim. Find out if and when a claim was paid.
view detailed claims information, including claim number, service dates, provider, status of the claim, the date the claim was paid, the amount, and check number (if applicable).
*Note: If you are a provider who uses more than one Tax ID, be sure that the correct Tax ID is selected in the Tax ID field of the Claim Search screen.
Tip: Claim number
formats may include: 12-345678, 123-456789, and 123-456789-12). Your ECI
system converts all claim numbers into a 11-digit number, xxx-xxxxxx-xx,
broken down as follows:
Before the first dash: the first number is the century and the next two
numbers are the last two digits of the year.
Following the first dash: the claim number.
Following the second dash: two-digit number used for ECI-internal reporting
purposes only. You do not need to worry about this number.
Therefore, you will see an 11-digit number on-screen once you have performed
a search.
I entered a service date range, but my claim is not there. Where is it?
Make sure that the dates you enter include the claim's date of service. The date of service is the date of your actual doctor's appointment, consultation, surgery, or hospital stay.
I know my claim number, and I don't remember my date of service. How do I find my claim?
If you know the date of service has been within the last year, you can perform a search for claims within the last year. Otherwise, specify an open date range.
